One year anniversary of Ukraine war

Glory to Ukraine! Glory to heroes!

It is a one-year anniversary of the war unleashed by Putin and his cabal agains the Ukrainian people

The entire civilized world condemns this aggression. Leaders of democratic countries express their support for Ukraine.

In contrast, during this whole year, the President of Uzbekistan never phoned Volodymyr Zelensky, yet Miziyoyev personally met with the aggressor- Putin several times. Why is it currently impossible to send a money transfer from Uzbekistan to Ukraine (even to relatives!), while cooperation with Russia has been growing?

Whose interests does Shavkat Mirziyoyev represent? Interests of Uzbek citizens or Putin? How is Mirziyoyev going to explain his cowardly position when Ukraine achieves its victory?

Had we had any real democratic elections of the president at least once in Uzbekistan, over the past thirty years, then all these ex-representatives of the communist junta would have been in the dock, and there would have been a president in power who would unambiguously cut all ties with Putin’s terrorist regime.

On the day of the anniversary of the war in Ukraine, it is reported from Tashkent, that those who today wished to express support for Ukraine and visit its embassy in the capital of Uzbekistan were hindered in every way by the security services and even detained for several hours.

A similar policy is in place in the other countries of Central Asia. Ordinary citizens of these countries express their support and provide all possible humanitarian assistance to the Ukrainians. I know many who during this period prepare plov and distribute it to the population. At the initiative of the citizens of Kazakhstan, yurts were installed in different cities of Ukraine, acting as “points of invincibility” - for heating during the cold winter, where visitors are treated to plov, tea and sweets.

This year has exposed the timid, cowardly position of Central Asian leaders like never before.
